This type of chain collar ( English standards) was developed in... it was used in the late Middle Ages and was mainly sewn or attached to clothing (gambeson).

Frw braid: This braid of flat rings is made up of flat chain rings which are closed by means of wedge rivets (triangular rivets). This type of braid is typical of ring armour from the late Middle Ages in Europe. The braid is 4 in 1. We call this braid frw (English = flat ring w rivets).
