This elegant Viking Age belt is based on archaeological finds from the Swedish island of Gotland. However, it is based on several original copies from Gotland and has been kept as historically authentic as possible. Comparable Viking belts or belt pieces were found, among others, in Birka/Björko (Sweden) and in the Baltic region (Estonia, Latvia). These belts were usually closed (knotted) with a loop so that the end of the strap hung freely in front.

The approximately 3.5cm wide slatted belt we offer here is made of 3mm thick vegetable-tanned leather and decorated with brass fittings with copper accents. The strap that encircles the waist has brass plates (called lamellas , hence the name) with an antique finish that are riveted to the leather.

This beautiful early medieval leather belt is a stylish addition to any Viking outfit and a perfect accessory for reenactments or LARP events.
