This elegant belt from the Viking Age is based on archaeological finds from the Swedish island of Gotland. However, it is based on several original copies from Gotland and has been kept as historically authentic as possible. Comparable Viking belts or belt pieces were found, among others, in Birka/Björko (Sweden) and in the Baltic region (Estonia, Latvia). These belts were usually closed (knotted) with a loop so that the end of the belt hung freely at the front.



The approximately 3.5 cm wide slatted belt offered here is made of 3 mm thick vegetable tanned leather and decorated with brass fittings with copper details. The strap around the waist has brass plates (so-called lamellas , hence the name) with an antique finish that are riveted to the leather.



This beautiful early medieval leather belt is a stylish addition to any Viking outfit and a perfect accessory for reenactments or larp events.
