The scimitar is a saber of Near Eastern origin. From around 700 AD, tribes of Muslim origin increasingly penetrated the Mediterranean region. With its deeply curved blade, this beautiful piece revives the battles between these Easterners, known as Saracens, and the European Crusaders. The wooden handle and falcon-headed pommel are often based on the original. This beautiful saber is an almost indispensable accessory for lovers of oriental dance.
