Our elaborate velvet jacket has a close-fitting cut and is lined with a lightweight cotton fabric. All seams are reinforced with cotton tape and the cuff is attached. It has multiple slits so that it fits the hips in a particularly flattering way.

The bustier jacket has numerous drawstrings (in the middle of the front, in the side seams, at the elbows and at the shoulders) that allow it to be individually adjusted to the body. The drawstrings allow the sleeves to be completely removed, so that the jacket can also be worn as a corsage. We recommend that you only open the drawstring in the middle of the front so that you can put it on and rethread it.

Due to its design and cut, this jacket can be attributed to the late Middle Ages. It can be combined very well with a dress or with a flared skirt and a blouse.

Regarding velvet, it can be added that it originated in the Mediterranean region in the 14th century and was predominantly woven in Italy. The elaborate design and the fact that this fabric was usually made of silk made velvet tunics exclusive garments. Velvet was very popular in Burgundian Renaissance fashion.

Cotton velvet should not be put in the washing machine as this will cause the velvet to wrinkle irreversibly. You should also not iron velvet as this will cause the pile to lose its depth. We recommend removing light stains with a clothes brush in the direction of the pile. If there is significant contamination, we recommend taking the jacket to the dry cleaners.
