Get Viking Helmet With Goggles, Spangenhelm With Fountain

Viking helmet with goggles, spangenhelm with bridge, 1.2 mm steel

This viking age helmet with goggles is made of 1.2mm steel. It consists of a round, blackened helmet bell, a headband, two crossing bands/strips or clasps (a band across the crown and a band running from ear to ear) and goggles with nose protection. The individual helmet parts are connected to each other by steel rivets and the gaps between the steel bands are filled with brass plates in the shape of i segments riveted to the bell with brass rivets. The band fittings and the face and eye protection are decorated with a celtic style knot or braid pattern.

The interior is blackened and has an adjustable, riveted leather insert. The chin strap, made of 2 mm thick black leather, is fitted with a steel buckle.

To protect the neck, collar and lower part of the face, the helmet has an attached chain guard that reaches down to the shoulders. The chain mesh consists of unriveted steel rings with an inner diameter of approx. The lower edge of the bell and the glasses is equipped with riveted eyelets, through which a strong iron wire is threaded. The fountain is attached to it.

In the early Middle Ages of Europe, the spangenhelm was the predominant type of helmet. However, the helmet offered here is not an authentic reproduction of a historical original, but rather a free interpretation of the Germanic nose helmets, clasp/band helmets and spectacle helmets of the early Middle Ages of the Vendel Age and the Viking Age.

This beautiful wearable fantasy helmet of diverse inspiration (Scandinavian, Anglo-Saxon, Norman, etc.) is an ideal accessory for larp, fantasy, costume, theatre or TV/film and will complete your transformation into a proud Nordic warrior. Of course, it is also an excellent decorative addition to any helmet collector's treasure trove.
