Treat yourself to a Large Pembridge Helmet, ca. 1370, 1.2mm Steel.
Pembridge large helmet, ca. 1370, 1.2 mm steel
This replica is based on Sir Richard Pembridge's helmet. The original dates from around 1370 and is now housed in the Royal Scottish Museum in Edinburgh.
The so-called great helmets were often worn over a smaller, lighter helmet (e.g., brain caps). They were widespread throughout Europe in the Middle Ages. Numerous contemporary illustrations (miniatures) and finds from Germany, Flanders, England, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, etc., demonstrate the popularity of this type of helmet. They were used, among other things, in the Battle of Crécy (1346) and Poitiers (1356).
The helmet has a comfortable leather lining and a chin strap with a brass buckle.
Due to its low weight, it's also ideal for LARP and medieval reenactments. However, if you want to use it during combat, we recommend the combat-oriented version with a material thickness of 2 mm: item no. 1716382901.
