Magnificent late Roman helmet from Berkasovo

Following the standard form of helmets from the late Imperial period, the find from Berkasovo (today Serbia) is distinguished by its rich decoration with precious stones, as well as gold and silver applications. The numerous elements explain its heavy weight: over 4 kg. The rich decorations indicate that it was worn by the highest-ranking officer of the time.

Our helmet has a stitched red leather inlay and glass trim. The helmet is padded in both the cheek flaps and the neck guard.
