This shoulder-draping chainmail hood features an authentic square cutout at the face and a fold-down triangular mouth guard with a leather strap. The mouth guard, also called a mouth bib or chin vaz , is lined with leather on the inside.



These chainmail hoods were especially popular in the High Middle Ages, for example among the Normans and Crusaders.

This unriveted plate mesh is made of high-quality spring steel. Due to its good price-performance ratio, it is ideal for beginners who still value good protection and solid quality. The braid is 4 in 1. We call this type of braid btw (english = b utted t ensile w ire). The rings are untreated, so they can rust, but they give the braid an authentic look.



This medieval hood is suitable for combat shows, reenactment, larp, ​​stage or TV/film, and is ideal to complete the armour of a Crusader or Templar.



We recommend wearing a hood with a padded waistband under the chain hood.
