Chain hood with triangular mouthguard, btw, id8 mm, untreated
- Suitable for show combat -
This shoulder-length chainmail hood features an authentic square face cut and a foldable triangular mouthguard with a leather strap. The mouthguard, also called a mouth bib or chin vaz , is lined with leather on the inside.
These chainmail hoods were especially popular in the High Middle Ages, for example among the Normans and the Crusaders.
The chain link by the way :
This unriveted chainmail is made of high-quality spring steel. Due to its good price-performance ratio, it's ideal for beginners who still value good protection and solid quality. The braid is 4-in-1. We call this type of braid "btw" ( butted tensile wire ). The rings are untreated, so they can rust, but they give the braid an authentic look.
This medieval hood is suitable for combat, reenactment, LARP, stage, or TV/film performances, and is ideal for completing the armor of a Crusader or Templar.
We recommend wearing a hood with a padded waistband under the chain hood.
