Fully combat-ready replica of a late medieval folding visor saucer from the late 14th century. The bascinet, also called a bascinet , bassinet or basnet , is a form of helmet that developed from the brain hood in the early 14th century. Bascinet hoods were usually worn in conjunction with a braid of chainmail.

Our reconstruction already has brass buttons drilled into the bottom to which a chainmail braid can be easily attached. The helmet has a striking, artistic, hand-made visor made of 2 mm steel.

The two halves of the helmet are also hand-made from 2 mm thick steel plate, cleanly welded and polished. A high-quality, adjustable padded liner is riveted to the helmet.

This helmet is suitable for show fighting.
