The straight-cut shirt is a classic of medieval clothing and can be used in many ways, for example as a craftsman's or gentleman's shirt. It has a collar and a wide double-shoulder yoke. The neckline and cuffs are finished with wooden buttons. The back is cut a little longer so that it does not slip out of the craftsman's trousers while he is working.
The shirt can be worn as a dress shirt or as a body shirt.
Historically, shirts only became fashionable in the late Middle Ages, when trousers became tighter and blouses shorter. They then became indispensable during the Renaissance.

This medieval shirt is part of the Battle-Merchant collection of historical and medieval clothing for men, women and children. From the first drawing to the last stitch, this garment was planned, designed and made with real craftsmanship and with special attention to detail. When it comes to our clothing, we base ourselves more or less exactly on their historical models, burial finds or museum pieces, if they exist.
