The ensemble La Reverdie was formed in August 1986 by two pairs of sisters, Claudia and Livia Caffagni, as well as Elisabetta and Livia de Mircovich. The four women borrowed their name from a poetic genre that celebrates the return of spring, thus revealing something about La Reverdie's most distinctive characteristic: an ensemble that for 30 years has delighted audiences and critics with its exciting musical approach and its extensive and inspiring repertoire, ranging from the Middle Ages to the early Renaissance.

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the Arcana label is releasing a 5-CD treasure chest series featuring all the medieval culture programs published by La Reverdie. This fantastic kaleidoscope shows that the Middle Ages, contrary to popular belief, were anything but musically dark.

La Reverdie examines different themes from different perspectives, such as courtly love or being a woman in the Middle Ages, and with this anthology, presents a colorful and broad musical portrait of Europe in the 13th and 15th centuries.
