Burgonet, or balaclava, 1.2 mm steel
The burgonet, also called balaclava, evolved from the schaller in the early 16th century. The burgonet was used primarily by infantry, and later also by cavalry, and became one of the most common types of helmet of its time.
The reproduction offered here has the characteristic crown crest and an arched peak decorated with the brass-coloured rivets are decorated with brass elements and are fixed to the helmet with hinges, allowing them to rotate almost 90 degrees. So-called helmet beard, it is also equipped with brass elements and brass-coloured rivets, has three-part fixings and is fastened to the wearer's chin and to the helmet fins with a leather strap. The helmet has a leather inlay with a chin strap.
