Treat yourself to a Burgonet or Balaclava, 1.2mm Steel.
Burgonet, or balaclava, 1.2 mm steel
The burgonet, also known as a balaclava, evolved from the schaller in the early 16th century. The burgonet was used primarily by infantry, and later by cavalry as well, and became one of the most common helmet types of its time.
The reproduction offered here has the characteristic crown crest and an arched peak decorated with brass-colored rivets. These are decorated with brass fittings and are attached to the helmet with hinges, allowing them to rotate almost 90 degrees. Called a helmet beard, it is also fitted with brass fittings and brass-colored rivets, has three-part fastenings, and is secured to the wearer's chin and helmet flaps with a leather strap. The helmet has a leather inlay with a chin strap.
