The monstrous undead with a hammer the size of your head has you in its sights, and you find yourself without an ally. Your usual tactic is to avoid battle and choose your fights strategically. There's no time now.

You duck under the first blow, keeping your Star Buckler between the hammer and your soft body. You're faster than the rotting monstrosity, but in your desperation you stumble and roll. Again the hammer falls, and you raise your Star Buckler to catch the force. Your small shield holds, buying time while your friends finally come to your aid.

DETAILS

The Epic Armoury Star Buckler is a small, versatile round shield inspired by skilled swordsmen throughout history. This 16" shield has a neutral design befitting many character types, sculpted and painted to resemble an iron shield, reinforced with a brass rim and a studded star on the face. A round shield in the center is designed to deflect weapons.

Use this Star Buckler right- or left-handed with the split-leather-wrapped hilt hidden behind the shield. The 5.5-inch handle is secured with hard EVA foam for a solid, reliable grip that's built to last. Feel confident that this latex shield will withstand the continued abuse of LARP with regular latex maintenance.

HISTORY

• Originally developed for Bucellarii, personal armies of wealthy landowners in the late Roman Empire
• Particularly popular among lightweight fighters during the Renaissance and Baroque eras
• He used the Shield Boss , the round, convex piece of material in the center of the shield to deflect blows
