Delight in Bronze Tunic Brooch, Hugin & Munin
Bronze dress closure, hugin & munin
A beautiful and delicate robe hook in the shape of two elaborately decorated birds. The bird pair is a representation of Odin’s two messengers, Hugin and Munin (or Huginn and Muninn ), who lived in the Viking Age. They are a recurring motif in Viking Age art. In Norse mythology, ravens fly over Asgard and Midgard and return in the evening to the father of the gods (also called Hrafnáss , the “raven god”) to tell him everything they have seen and heard.
Whether at medieval markets, Viking events, reenactment events or simply in modern everyday life, this two-piece brooch or garment pin can be used to wonderfully round off any outfit. On the back there are 3 eyelets (approx. 3 mm in diameter) with which the Viking jewellery can be sewn onto clothing. Both elements are then easily hooked together and thus provide a secure fastening for your garment. The eyelets are also ideal for hanging additional jewellery, e.g. chains.
This charming bronze brooch will be an eye-catcher and will make a great gift for Valentine's Day, Christmas and any occasion in between!
