Cast in solid bronze, this brooch features an intricately woven grasping beast motif intertwined with high-relief snake and knot motifs, distinctive of Norse art. The gently convex body rises on an internal pin with a secure closure system, reminiscent of historical finds.
Worn by Viking women of status, these brooches were not only functional but also held cultural and symbolic value, as they sometimes contained tools, chains, or amulets suspended between paired fibulae.
