A jewellery brooch from Gotland in Sweden that can be assigned to the pre-Viking period of Vendel. The bird could represent one of the two Odin ravens from Germanic mythology. Hugin and Munin were therefore the companion animals and helpers of Odin, who also bore the surname Hrafnáss (raven god).
