This beautiful pentagon-shaped bag from the Viking era is made of sturdy cotton canvas. The edges and the front flap are beautifully reinforced with sturdy stitched leather (in two tones). The highlight are the stitching and brass rivets that adorn the flap and make the medieval bag a real eye-catcher. The bag is unlined and closes with an adjustable buckle (brass buckle, leather tab).



The approximately 2 cm wide and length-adjustable carrying strap is also made of canvas and leather elements, which are firmly connected to each other by strong stitching and rivets. With a total length of approximately 1.4 m, this strap is large enough to be able to carry the bag both as a shoulder bag and crossbody (on the upper body).



This Viking bag is suitable for both women and men. Not only in the High Middle Ages, but also throughout the Middle Ages, bags and shoulder bags were used equally by women and men. They were more of an everyday item than a fashion accessory and served to accommodate everything needed in everyday life and at work and to carry it comfortably with you.



Although this medieval bag is not a reconstruction of an archaeological find, it is certainly based on historical models. It is a great addition to your historical clothing and an ideal accessory for storing coins, potion bottles, small notebooks, etc. at medieval markets as well as reenactments, living history or larp events (or modern belongings that you need on site could, cleverly, be hidden away). Of course, this shoulder bag is also perfect for everyday use.
