The author:
Bernard Cornwell, born in London and raised in Wessex, worked successfully as a reporter for BBC television for many years. In 1980 he followed his American wife to Cape Cod, where he still lives and writes. Cornwell has already celebrated triumphs in the United States and England with a series of novels about the Napoleonic Wars. In Germany he became known for his King Arthur trilogy and his Nordmann saga about the Saxon warrior Uhtred.
