Bernard Cornwell, born in London and raised in Wessex, worked successfully for many years as a BBC-TV reporter. In 1980 he followed his American wife to Cape Cod, where he still lives and writes. Cornwell has already celebrated triumphs in the United States and England with a series of novels about the Napoleonic Wars. In Germany he became known for his King Arthur trilogy and his Nordmann saga about the Saxon warrior Uhtred.
