Delight in the Atrim Type XIV Medieval Sword from Kingston Arms
Atrim type xiv, kingston arms medieval sword
Designed by Gus Trim, this early 13th century style armour sword has a very slight forward balance, making it comfortable in the hand and devastating to cut through.
based on oakeshott's type xiv specification, these swords were used in the 13th to early 14th centuries during the transitional period from mail armour to full armour in the 15th century. this sword is therefore more geared towards slashing than later swords which were developed for stabbing. this combination of slashing and stabbing capability corresponds perfectly with the use of the sword and shield or buckler of the period.
The blade is made of hand-forged 9260 spring steel, flat-ground and has a beautiful satin finish. The fittings are made of high-quality stainless steel, exactly matching Gus's design. The handle consists of a solid wood core which is wrapped with a textured leather cord. The scabbard is made of solid wood, with a stainless steel end cap and a stitched leather wrap.
the sword comes sharpened.
