With this high-quality water stone from Samura you can perform pre-sanding on thin sheets and fine sanding on coarser tools.

Grinding begins with a coarse grain size and then progresses to a finer grain size. Ideally, successive grain sizes should each be 2 to 3 times finer.

The following can be used as a guide:

- For heavy duty work, to remove nicks or if the tool is very dull, a stone with a grit size of 120 to 400 is recommended.

- For normal sharpening work, a stone with a grit size of 700 to 2000 is suitable.

- To remove fine burrs and polish surfaces, use grit sizes 3000 to 12000.

To prevent the stone from slipping off the work surface during sharpening, it is supplied with a non-slip holder.
