Aquila Standard of the Roman Legion with Pole
The Aquila , or eagle in Latin, was the supreme standard of the Roman legions, a symbol of honor and pride. Losing this emblematic insignia, also known as the legionary eagle , was considered a profound disgrace, while its recovery was celebrated as a great victory.
The eagle represented the Roman god Jupiter and was considered the soul and guide of the legion, marking the way both on the march and in battle.
A masterpiece of history and symbolism
This authentic replica of the Roman Aquila features a towering solid brass eagle , crafted with painstaking detail where even the structure of the feathers is visible. The eagle alone weighs over 4.4 kg , making it an indispensable item for any faithful historical legionary reenactment. The standard includes a two-piece, screw-on wooden shaft , equipped with a bracket and handles for convenient handling. Assembly is the responsibility of the customer.
