The justaucorps emerged in the 17th century as a military uniform and was later also worn by civilians. Typical of justaucorps are the tight fit in the front, the flared skirt in the back, and the dividing seam along the waist. It can be assumed that pirates snatched the justaucorps from wealthy merchants and thus seized their clothing.



Our pirate coat is made of durable cotton canvas and is fully lined. Appliqué ribbons, high-quality ball buttons, wide cuffs, and side pockets with large flaps give it an authentic pirate look. The cut is close-fitting, and the skirt flares slightly in the back. Pair the coat with simple cotton trousers, a medieval shirt, and a wide leather belt for a harmonious pirate costume.

To determine your dress size based on your body measurements, measure horizontally at the widest point. For blouses, use your chest measurement as a guide. If you're between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size. The cut includes comfort allowances.
