Flintlock Muzzle-Loading Rifle France 1807 – Napoleon's Thunder
When steel spoke in close volleys and gunpowder wrote the history of Europe.
This magnificent replica takes us back to 1807 , when France, under Napoleon Bonaparte , dominated the continent to the roar of gunpowder. Flintlock rifles like this one were the heart of Napoleon's infantry: muzzle-loading , hand-reloading, long-range weapons that demanded discipline, training, and composure in the heat of battle.
Its flint and hammer mechanism generated the spark that ignited the gunpowder, projecting a ball from the muzzle. Although its shot was slow and its trajectory inaccurate, it was deadly in close formation, especially when lines broke and the battle was resolved with fixed bayonets.
This non-functional replica , manufactured in Spain by Denix , faithfully reproduces its original design in high-quality wood and metal , evoking the weapons that served at Austerlitz, Wagram or Jena.
