Cold steel tiger fork



In the early 1990s, Cold Steel President Lynn C. Thompson purchased a handmade Chinese tiger fork to add to his collection. He fitted it with an old rattan handle and still trains with it to this day. Lynn loves hunting stories in historical records. She had already read several stories about Chinese hunters using huge fork-like tools to capture or kill big cats, and she had also had the pleasure of speaking with Chinese martial artists who explained to her how this tool was modified and used as a weapon of destruction. A feared combat implement was used in war. Twenty years later, the time has come for Lynn to bring her own version of the tiger fork to a modern audience.



Cold Steel's own interpretation of this martial arts weapon features an extended central spike for optimal striking capability, framed by two inwardly curved prongs for easy catching. By skillfully twisting and turning the Tiger Fork, a skilled martial artist can not only catch, parry, deflect and twist an opponent's weapon, but also disarm the enemy himself, throw him to the ground and even immobilize him.
