The Steel Tiger® is a completely modern tactical interpretation of the Indonesian karambit knife. This knife is the result of a collaboration between Lynn C. Thompson and the late knifemaker Steven Likarisch. Their goal was to harmoniously combine the best features of this hooked classic with modern materials and design elements.

Its strongly curved and extremely pointed blade made of aus 8a stainless steel with a stonewashed finish has been vacuum hardened and low temperature treated, has a scandi sharpness and therefore has maximum strength, cutting power, edge retention and performance.

The shaft is made from a durable, fully coated Griv-Ex™ core, as seen in the bolster, thumb rest, and impressive pommel ring. This Griv-Extrade core is then injection-molded with premium, open-spun Kray-Ex™ material. Even in cold or wet conditions, this Kray-Extrade layer provides excellent slip resistance.

The Steel Tiger® includes a Secure-Ex® military-style sheath for safety and convenience. You can strap the knife to your gear or carry it on your boot or belt using the removable clip.

Aus 8a stainless steel

Cold Steel® has used the same expertly hardened AUS 8A Japanese steel for nearly three decades. This steel has been thoroughly tested and proven over the years to be ideal for making work knife blades: it's hard and corrosion-resistant, with good edge retention, and is also easy to sharpen.
