Eventide Pourpoint
Description"Lacire tied the last of the strings on her pourpoint and nodded to her attendant. While it was partial armor, it would provide some protection during the feast. Lacire looked forward to the feast as eagerly as she might have looked forward to kissing a burning pig. And was this supposed to be a victory? She took a sip of the green wine in her bed. It had been thoroughly checked for poison, and though its sour taste was laced with a hint of the fungus used to prepare it, she still enjoyed it. Tonight's drinks would be of sunworld origin and were far too sweet for her liking."
Epic Armoury's Eventide Pourpoint sits somewhere between a gambeson and a doublet in that it can be worn with or without armor, and with armor, which would make it much more comfortable. It's made of cotton, with cotton padding and suede inserts on the exposed and armored areas, such as the upper and lower arms and upper chest. It can be adjusted for comfort using the numerous drawstrings, aglets, and eyeholes, ensuring a perfect fit. Historically, pourpoints were used like a thinner gambeson, though only the poorest soldiers ever used them as their sole armor. Later, they evolved to look more like regular clothing rather than functioning as armor. It takes its visual cues from these historical sources, modern dark elves, and the classic Norse Svartálfar to give you a protective and flexible garment.
