He was a veteran of countless battles and was often the first to charge into battle. In honor of these tough and dedicated wandering soldiers, Cold Steel® has created the Man at Arms collection of weapons. Compared to Cold Steels® premium versions, these combat-ready weapons lack the usual silver-polished steel elements, but the MAA series products come close to matching the other products in quality and performance. Cold Steel® is proud to expand its man at arms collection of historically inspired weapons with this stunning Germanic style mace.



This modern interpretation of a classic Gothic mace was handcrafted from 1055 carbon steel. It has a thick-walled hollow steel handle and a solid pommel that provides good counterbalance to the heavy head.



Designed to fight against enemies wearing heavy armor, the Maa Gothic Mace features six steel blades. Each face is profiled and tapered into a wedge shape to save weight and give the impact a bit more “bite.” This mace could dent or shatter the toughest plate armor, and can also be used as a thrusting weapon thanks to the pointed end crowning the head. It can be wielded with one or two hands and is light enough to swing quickly, yet powerful enough to block, parry, and of course, deliver devastating blows.



With its deep black finish achieved by blueing and its hand-stitched leather wrapped handle, this beautiful mace is sure to be a very interesting addition to any martial artist, historical reenactor or hema weapons enthusiast's collection.
