Chinese Mace



Early Chinese archers eschewed the sword as a support weapon and instead used a mace. Armor was now sophisticated enough to stop a sword strike, but a heavy mace could shatter helmets and armor with the sheer force of impact. The Cold Steel® Chinese Mace is a highly versatile specimen that any Chinese soldier or archer would be proud to own. The classic head shape is reminiscent of a gourd and has a diameter of approximately 3.5 inches (8.9 cm). It is welded to a leather-wrapped steel handle for a firm grip. The handle is long enough to allow for an ambidextrous grip for added power and leverage. It is surprisingly well balanced and weighs approximately 3.0 pounds (1.4 kg). It is a perfect addition to any reenactor's collection.
