Give a Medieval Flail with Three Stars.

Medieval flail with three stars

The striking weapon known as the flail (also fighting flail or war flail ) was developed in the 12th century from the threshing flail of simple farmers and was used until the 17th century.

In common parlance, this medieval weapon with a pointed head is incorrectly, but also often, called a morning star , especially in the variant where the head is attached to the handle by a chain.

The reconstruction offered here consists of an approximately 52 cm long ash wood handle, to the end of which, which has a metal ferrule, three metal chains are attached. From each chain hangs a heavy, star-shaped ball made of carbon steel. The surface of the steel balls, chains and sheath were deliberately left untreated, so they still retain a layer of forged black tinder that gives the weapon a rustic and authentic character.

This medieval war flail is designed as a collector's item or decorative object and is also ideal as an accessory, for example to complete your costume.

Details:

- Material: carbon steel (not stainless!), ash wood handle

- Handle length: approx. 52cm

- Diameter of balls/stars (including spikes): approx. 10 cm

- Chain length: approx. 21 cm

- Weight: approx. 1.25 kg

The above specifications may vary slightly from copy to copy.

Slight variations in shape and/or surface are quite normal for this medieval flail, and the images above are for exemplary purposes only.

The steel used here is not stainless and may show slight signs of corrosion. We recommend caring for Flegel regularly, for example with Ballistol, a universal oil ideal for preserving steel products.
