This generously sized handled mug/tank is handcrafted from horn, polished and decorated with a carved Valknut symbol. In addition to the carving, this beautiful horn mug has a wooden base. The Valknut, a symbol consisting of three interlocking triangles, appears in various archaeological finds attributed to Germanic peoples. Although to this day one can only speculate about its true meaning, some experts tend to assume that there is a connection to Odin, the father of the gods in Norse mythology (hence the alternative German name Wotan’s knot). The Valknut has made its way into modern culture and adorns many pieces of jewelry, talismans and decorative objects. It is particularly popular among followers of Germanic Neopaganism (for example among followers of Asatru ).



Whether used in the modern home or recreating a medieval or Viking setting, this rustic and highly decorative vessel will be an eye-catcher on any dining table.
