Gift Viking Knife Made of Damascus Steel with Wood/Bone Handle.

Viking knife with Damascus blade and wood/bone handle
This handmade Viking knife (Sax (Seax)) has a razor-sharp blade made of 256-layer Damascus steel. The handle features alternating tangs, separated by dark spacers.
The layers of wood and bone are striking. The handle end cap and ferrule are made of brass. A beautiful sheath is included in the scope of delivery.
Tanned leather with ornately decorated brass fittings and a loop holder, allowing the knife to be carried comfortably on a belt.
The term Damascus steel , Damascus steel or simply Damascus refers to a composite steel made from two or more different types of steel.
The name derives from the Syrian city of Damascus, which is considered an ancient stronghold and the origin of Damascus steel production. Typically a hard, carbon-rich material,
Low-carbon mild steel joined by repeated welding and forging. High-carbon steel provides greater hardness, better hardenability, and
Longer edge retention, while the softer steel gives the blade greater elasticity and greater resistance to breakage. With this technology, in a worse and changing time
Steel grades have been created so you can combine the positive properties of different steels. Due to the different colors and different carbon contents,
Impressive patterns are also created from alternating layers, such as in a twisted form, such as the so-called twist damask or rose damask . This is especially the reason why
Damascus swords of the Middle Ages were said to have an inherent magic.
Details:
- Blade material: Damascus steel (256 layers), sharp edge
