Colt Navy 1851, .36 percussion revolver, black with brass frame, wooden handle, replica
Decorative gun with mobile mechanism
– Not fireable –
This beautiful decorative weapon is a faithful replica of an 1851 American Colt Navy percussion revolver, also called the Belt Model because its practical size allowed it to be carried in a belt holster. This .36 caliber muzzle-loading revolver came onto the market in 1850 and enjoyed great popularity during the Westward Expansion period (also called the Frontier Movement - Westward Expansion Movement). It was very popular with both troops and civilians. Famous users of this weapon include Buffalo Bill, Doc Holliday, President Ulysses S. Grant, and most of the Texas Rangers before the American Civil War.
Although revolvers chambered for solid metal cartridges became more common after the American Civil War, this muzzle-loading weapon remained in use long after the conflict's end. Over 215,000 were produced between 1850 and 1872. It was finally replaced in 1873 by the Colt Single Action Army Revolver ( M1873 , also known as the SAA , Peacemaker , or simply the Colt .45 ), a cartridge revolver that achieved cult status and became a true symbol of the Wild West.
Our replica of this legendary Western weapon reflects the dimensions of the original. Like the historic model, it has a 7.5-inch (approx. 19 cm) octagonal barrel, a single-action trigger, a cocking ram, and a six-chamber rotating drum, which rotates further when the hammer is cocked. In this version, the decorative revolver combines wooden handles with black metal elements and brass accents (the frame and trigger guard are brass, the barrel, drum, cocking ram, hammer, and trigger are blackened).
Our firearm replicas are for recreation and decoration purposes only. The revolver's mechanism is fully movable, but this replica is not functional or capable of firing.
This western revolver is not only an absolute gem for gun collectors, American history buffs, or fans of western movies and TV shows, but also an essential accessory for cowboys, lawmen, outlaws, and reenactors of the American pioneer era.
