Shamshir, Persian saber

The shamshir, which can be translated into English as lion's paw or lion's paw , is a Persian saber. It is a slashing weapon designed for chopping. The partially curved blade makes it stable and its cuts more effective, but this makes points almost impossible. It spread rapidly and was produced in diverse regions such as India, the Balkans, Russia, and Turkey. In addition to its function as a weapon, the shamshir often also had a ceremonial function.

This shamshir has a sharp carbon steel blade. The curved, spherical pommel, along with the handle, is made of two pieces of wood that rest on the tang. The sword's scabbard is made of wood covered in leather and features a scabbard and mouth plate, as well as steel support rings.
