The great gold buckle and the Sutton Hoo helmet are important examples of Anglo-Saxon craftsmanship.
The ceremonial helmet is believed to have been a funerary object of an Anglo-Saxon prince and was probably made in the early 7th century. historically
It is close to other early medieval Germanic helmets such as those of Vendel and Valsgärde (Sweden).
When found, the helmet was broken into hundreds of pieces. The assembled fragments included a very elaborate one made by the Royal Armory.
Replicas can now be admired in the British Museum in London.
It's true that our replica isn't as perfect as the Royal Armouries replica. However, our version is highly decorative but also portable.
